When Passion Meets Mission
Why Your Story Can't Wait Any Longer
The Collision of Two Worlds
Have you ever felt your passion and your mission stood at opposite ends of a room, making you feel disconnected, and you have trouble moving forward?
For a few years now, I have lived in two distinct spaces. In my first world, I had Do The Work Books as my mission to advocate for the power of pen-to-paper, striving for a viable heart-centered business. In my second world, I had Mamas On Missions as my passion project born out of a season of deep grief, transition, and intense loneliness (which was only amplified as a solopreneur)!
I used to think these worlds were separate.
But the truth is, the magic happened when they collided. Our monthly MOM circles were designed for reflection instead of reaction as we navigate our unique but unified journey of motherhood. In every single mom session, we didn’t just pass out advice; I made sure we passed out physical worksheets!
That tactile, paper-first approach wasn’t an accident.
Long before I was a business owner or a community builder, I was an Industrial Designer and spent years designing physical products in the home decor industry. My design spirit has always understood that human beings need to hold things. We need weight, texture, and physical presence.
That is why I didn't build an app.
I built a workbook company to help turn learnings into integrated lessons and actionable products to trigger transformation. And later, an in-person mom community for connecting with other moms but ultimately — reconnecting to yourself!
A Decade of Moving Through Worlds
Looking back, it feels like I became a new mom and an entrepreneur in a whirlwind season of change. The journey had its ups and downs of both family and business, growing hand-in-hand.

(Want to take another look at the details of how this entire path unfolded? You can explore my full timeline path here to see how every single dot is connected!)
It took stepping entirely outside of my comfort zone, leaning into heavy leadership, and surviving the Hidden Stall to finally realize something critical…
I was incredibly good at helping other people get their work out into the world, but I was stalling on my own.
The Ultimate Self-Care: Doing YOUR Work
With May highlighting Mental Health Month, we have to maintain the ultimate form of creative self-care: Prioritizing your own passion project.
The MOMazine premiere edition was my passion project that kept getting put off to the side. It was easy to put it off because it required deep vulnerability. But procrastination is often just a mask for how much we care. I had to remember the lessons from 2023 when I self-published My Book of Books. I had to remember that the communities we build (even our MOM circles) thrive and get amplified when we dare to put our own thoughts on the page and bound in a book.
If you are hiding behind helping everyone else build their dreams while your own notebook sits dusty on a shelf, the half-year mark is your gentle wake-up call. If you have a mission that needs to become a wellness workbook or a guided journal, here is your framework to stop walking around it.
WHY Publish?
Because your passion and mission combined create a legacy. Your unique story is what gives the paper its value.
WHO to Publish With?
You don’t need permission from a traditional publishing house. Self-publishing keeps the creative control entirely in your hands.
WHERE to Publish?
Amazon KDP. It turns your digital files into a physical book that people can hold.
HOW to Publish?
One step at a time through a "Slow Build". Start with one page, one worksheet, and build from there!
WHEN to Publish?
Now. Not when you have more time. Not when it’s perfect. Now.
Why the Screen Won’t Save Us
The MOMazine promotes a very specific philosophy: A Pen-to-Paper experience with the Story-to-Prompt anchor.
When you type your mission onto a screen, you are only one notification away from distraction. You delete, you edit, you perform. But when you write by hand, your mind slows down to match the ink. It is an act of mental health maintenance. It forces you to hear your own voice.
And with the story method to move, you out of autopilot and into reflection. By hearing a story first, you’re ready to dive into your own, turning other peoples stories into your own personal growth.
You’ve helped everyone else with your mission.
Now, do it for you and light that passion.
Is your passion and mission ready to collide like mine did?! 💥
