workbook designer
At Do The Work Books, we believe that personal well-being and organizational health thrive when individuals are given space to pause, reflect, and connect. In a fast-paced digital world, we are committed to creating opportunities for deeper self-discovery and transformation.
That’s why we partner with organizations in two ways:
Internally — collaborating with HR, Learning & Development, and Wellness teams to support employee well-being and leadership growth.
Externally — working with wellness brands, coaches, and facilitators to design workbooks and journals that strengthen their programs and customer experience.
This role is about turning insights into impact by designing tools that help people slow down, engage, and apply what they’re learning in a meaningful way.

Location: Flexible/Remote
Position Type: Contract or Full-Time
The Role
The Workbook Designer will lead the creation of interactive, pen-to-paper tools that support employee or customer wellness, mental health initiatives, and leadership development programs. Working closely with your HR, Learning & Development, and Wellness teams, we’ll translate complex ideas into beautifully structured workbooks, worksheets, and journals that inspire active participation and personal growth.
What We Do
Collaborate with program leads, wellness experts, and facilitators to co-create workbooks and reflective tools.
Translate concepts, frameworks, and wellness practices into clear, interactive formats.
Design engaging pen-to-paper experiences that encourage self-reflection, goal-setting, and application.
Ensure that materials are visually appealing, easy to use, and aligned with organizational culture.
Adapt workbook frameworks for diverse audiences (corporate teams, wellness programs, leadership retreats, etc.).
Provide creative consultation on integrating reflective tools into training, coaching, and mental health initiatives.
Examples include
Pair a workbook with your next workshop. Give participants reflection prompts to use before, during, and after the session so the learning continues.
Add journaling to leadership development. Simple prompts can help managers align what they’re learning with how they lead day-to-day.
Offer a guided journal for wellness initiatives. Employees gain a private, safe space to process stress, set goals, and celebrate progress.
BENEFITS ARE
In wellness initiatives, a workbook can extend a one-hour workshop into an ongoing practice.
In leadership programs, it ensures participants walk away with a tangible tool they’ll keep working with.
For culture and engagement, it creates shared frameworks and space for reflection and connection.
This includes
People who feel supported in their mental health and well-being.
Higher ROI on wellness and training programs.
Stronger cultures built on clarity, self-awareness, and growth.
Differentiation as an organization that doesn’t just inspire but equips its people to transform.
Our Experience
A background in design, coaching, and creative facilitation.
Strong ability to organize complex ideas into structured, user-friendly resources.
Passion for well-being, self-development, and mental health.
Excellent writing and communication skills, with a gift for clarity and inspiration.
Experience collaborating with leaders, educators, or wellness professionals.
Proficiency in digital design platforms (ex. Canva, Adobe).
Why This Role Matters
Our work will directly contribute to healthier employees or customers. By creating tools that employees and customers can hold in their hands, write in, and return to, you’ll help bridge the gap between inspiration and real-life application. These resources will empower our people to deepen self-awareness, reduce stress, and create meaningful action steps toward growth.
Growth & Development
We see this role as an evolving opportunity. As you grow your leadership or wellness initiatives, we will also help shape our approach to wellness programming, reflective learning, and organizational culture. You’ll be supported to expand your creative practice while impacting hundreds (or thousands) of lives through our work.
Wellness grows when ideas move from inspiration to action. If you’re curious about bringing reflective tools into your organization or brand, I’d love to collaborate.
