The Role

The Workbook Designer will lead the creation of interactive, pen-to-paper tools that support employee or customer wellness, mental health initiatives, and leadership development programs. Working closely with your HR, Learning & Development, and Wellness teams, we’ll translate complex ideas into beautifully structured workbooks, worksheets, and journals that inspire active participation and personal growth.


What We Do

  • Collaborate with program leads, wellness experts, and facilitators to co-create workbooks and reflective tools.

  • Translate concepts, frameworks, and wellness practices into clear, interactive formats.

  • Design engaging pen-to-paper experiences that encourage self-reflection, goal-setting, and application.

  • Ensure that materials are visually appealing, easy to use, and aligned with organizational culture.

  • Adapt workbook frameworks for diverse audiences (corporate teams, wellness programs, leadership retreats, etc.).

  • Provide creative consultation on integrating reflective tools into training, coaching, and mental health initiatives.

Examples include

  1. Pair a workbook with your next workshop. Give participants reflection prompts to use before, during, and after the session so the learning continues.

  2. Add journaling to leadership development. Simple prompts can help managers align what they’re learning with how they lead day-to-day.

  3. Offer a guided journal for wellness initiatives. Employees gain a private, safe space to process stress, set goals, and celebrate progress.

Collaboration Package

 

Collaboration Consultant

Retainer Package includes the following

  • 1:1 Consulting: 15 minute calls weekly or 30 minute calls bi-weekly or 60 minute calls monthly

  • Project Support: Ongoing email correspondence for workbook advice and feedback

  • Implementation: Hands-on technical execution of your workbook

  • Timeline: 3 consecutive months minimum

  • Compilation of Discovery, Strategy, Development and Publishing Packages available upon completion of the Workbook Workout

 

Discovery & Strategy Packages

 

Consulting Only

Includes the following

  • 1:1 Consulting: 1 hour calls (Connection, Clarity, Collaboration & Creative call) plus ongoing email correspondence.

  • Project Support: Project scope, Design suggestions, Workbook advice and Self-Publishing and Printer assistance.

  • Timeline: 4 weeks

  • The Coach does not include any design work.

Consulting & Design Strategy

Includes The Coach and the following

  • Discovery Process: Welcome Package that includes project brief and target milestones.

  • Design Strategy: Design Proposal, Book Specs, Book Outline, Copy Outline

  • Timeline: 8 weeks

 

Development & Design Packages

Consulting & Content Development

Includes The Coach, The Creative and the following

  • Research & Analysis: gather and develop workbook topics and application.

  • Workbook Content: Includes 25 hours of supportive content development.

  • Timeline: 4 months

  • Author must supply some content for manuscript development. Does not include any final design page layouts.

Design, Consulting & Development

Includes The Coach, The Creative, The Producer and the following

  • Design Work: Cover design file and interior design file. Includes 10 simple page designs, 10 content page designs and 10 visual page designs.

  • Revisions: Additional 1 round for graphic design development.

  • Timeline: 6 months

  • Author supplies all graphic visuals or stock graphics will be used.

Custom Creative Development

Includes The Coach, The Creative, The Producer, The Designer and the following

  • Creative Development: Content and manuscript development.

  • Graphic designs: Custom graphics and stock image support.

  • Revisions: Additional 1 round for graphic design development.

  • Timeline: 8 months

  • Author does not supply graphics, custom graphics will be included.

  • Content Creation: Finalizing manuscript and editing

  • Book Branding: Logo development and digital assets.

  • Publishing Support: Managing Barcodes, Print On Demand or Print-shop set-up.

What is the difference between the packages?

  • The Co-Creator, The Coach and The Creative is ideal for clients who are DIYers and have the design skills and tools to complete a workbook on their own or if they have another designer to do the work.

    These clients do not have a book and are looking for support with discussing their project and flushing out what they need in order to develop and design their workbook. Or they have already have a book and are looking for ways to create it into an interactive workbook.

    They need support, inspiration and motivation to take their workbook idea to the next level.

  • The Designer, The Generator and The Works is for clients who need support to organize the entire project from start to finish.

    These custom projects are for Authors and Course Creators that need a designer to do the development and design work to complete their project.

    They need accountability, direction and creativity to oversee the publication of their workbook.

  • This package you will receive my assistance with the self-publishing aspect along with the all the above workbook development packages. This package also includes book branding that inevitably unfolds when creating a book as it sometimes becomes a new brand identity or offshoot of your already existing brand.

 

Who is each Custom Workbook package for?

  • The Co-Creator is for those who need help with development and designer work. They plan to design it themself or have another designer to work with. They need Do The Work Books to support them step by step on their workbook journey. They need accountability to keep them on track and expert advice adding more possibilities to their workbook.

  • The Coach is for those who do not need designer work. They plan to design it themself or have another designer to work with. They need Do The Work Books to support them on their workbook journey and offer expert advice and possibilities for their workbook.

  • The Creative is for those who want to start the process of creating the workbook but only want to determine a strategy without commiting to the entire development for completing their workbook. They need a visual proposal of their book to help with their process of completing the book. The Design Proposal can be used as a template for more pages in their workbook so that they can finish the design themself.

  • This is best for authors who need support with content development by exploring creative prompts and interactive methods for engaging the participant.

  • The Designer is for those who have the final edited manuscript done and their workbook is ready to be designed. They have the content and the interactive worksheets developed so they simply need the pages to be digitally designed and formatted. They do not require custom graphics, stock image or publishing support except for support with reviewing the printed proof.

  • The Generator is for those who need more support in developing and designing their workbook. They do not have all the content flushed out and need support with developing their workbook idea into an engaging and interactive experience for their audience. This includes support and advice on how to create activities for their workbook. They also want custom graphics and or support with stock images to include in their book to make it unique and visually interesting.

  • The Works is for those who want it all! They are starting from the ground up and need clarity on their workbook vision, a plan to create it and the support to make it happen. The Works package is the entire project management process with design, development, and delivery for the final book. This will include everything from editing your manuscript to developing a book brand to managing all the publishing details.

 

Frequently Asked Questions

  • On our initial call together we will establish what you need and decide which package is best for you. If we change directions throughout working together we review the scope and decide which new direction to take.

  • I will work with you to determine which route is best for your unique needs. An estimate will be provided before any work is started.

  • The Designer, The Generator and The Works are based on a foundation of 30 pages divided equally into 3 page design types: Simple, Content and Visual. Repeated duplicated pages have no charge. Additional pages if required will be charged $20-$80/page depending on design and complexity. Page design type and count can only be determined once The Design Strategy stage and edited manuscript is finalized and approved.
